On September 20th I arrived in Chengdu. Here ends now my cycling tour through Asia. The trip, with it's highs and lows, was a lot of fun. Sadly also this trip had to end sometime and with 1 year and 3 month I traveld long enough for a 1 year trip. You can take a look at my cycled route at Maps.

I'm back in Dali, Yunnan Province. I decided now to continue to Chengdu, fill up my 20.000 km and then finish my beautiful cycling tour through Asia.
Tony and me are now in Bangkok, here I need to by some spare parts for my bicycle and Tony wants to try to get his chinese visa here.
After a nice tour through Cambodia I arrived in Laos. Here I just met with Pat and Tony again, they arrived today by bus from Cambodia. For Pat the cycling tour is finished, he already sold his bike in Stung Treng. The trip through the jungle was enough for him. Tony wants to continue, so we will sit together and take a look at our maps to plan the further route. Here in Laos it seems to go on some smooth paved roads.
I'm fully recoverd from my illness and in the last days I have eaten a lot to get my strength back. Meanwhile I have arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), cause I had to take the train from Hue to here. Tomorrow I will cycle to the Mekong Delta and then to the border of Cambodia.
I'm sorry, for not responding for a long time. Since I again had problems with my emails, I decided to change my host. This was a bit more difficult to arrange from here. It was and still is a lot of work for me, to transfer all my data to the new server. Due to different server settings I had to reprogram some part of my homepage, too. Sadly I'm still not finished with everything (like I said, it is not so easy to do this during my cycling trip in asia)... be patient, I think that the host change was a good idea.
I'm very fine. I'm not far away from Vietnam. The border I want to cross at 1st of March.

I wish you a happy new year. I hope you had a beautiful new years eve like me. I celebrated with some friends at the gourges Westlake of Hangzhou. We five cycled there with three bikes and enjoyed at a quite spot the fireworks on the other side of the lake.
On 8th of December I arrived after 8433 km Shanghai. At the moment I'm still here and have a good time with my friends. On 30th of December I will finally jump back in the saddle and cycle south. I wish you all a happy new year.
Nach etwas mehr als 4500 km bin ich nun gut in Xi'an angekommen. Bald geht es weiter Richtung Chengdu. Hier musste ich allerdings eine größere Reperatur durchfüren. Beide meine Felgen waren innen bös gerissen, so dass ich neue kaufen musste. Dies war wegen des hohen Gewichts, den schlechten Straßen und meines trotz dem recht schnellen fahrens verursacht. Ab jetzt werde ich etwas sanfter mit dem guten Rad umgehen. Da es langsam immer kälter wird sollte ich schauen, dass ich nach Süden komme.
Since a few days I'm now in Ulaan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia. As long as I have to wait here for my chinese Visa, I try to prepare myselfe as good as posible for the Gobi crossing. Everyone is amazed by my eating skills and I myselfe am a bit surprised... i could eat 24h a day.
